Grey’s Anatomy: Dr. Bailey’s heart attack; is Chandra Wilson leaving?
Basically, this promo suggested that the condition of Dr. Bailey was about to take a turn for a worse — the doctor is becoming the patient, and she is one of the most-powerful doctors out there. You would think that she would be immune to almost anything since she comes across as almost invincible at times. Yet, she’s human and this could be the biggest struggle of her entire life. We hope that she makes it through but there are no guarantees. Our hope is that she stays just because there are so many great stories potentially ahead for her.
What’s one of the biggest ones? Getting a chance to see her and Ben have some conflict in the midst of his new job. Next week’s new episode is also going to feature a new preview for Station 19, the firefighter spin-off. Maybe that levity will distract you from the sadness.
The good news is that, if you love Chandra Wilson, this could be one of the best performances that you’ve had a chance to see on the series to date. Dr. Bailey is a powerful, magnetic character, and we expect nothing more than the absolute best from her here. The material should live up to her talent.
Is Chandra Wilson leaving?
We would really be surprised if that was the case, especially right now. She is one of the original cast members and to have this happen at this point would feel like a somewhat-questionable move.
Yet, if you wanted to play Devil’s Advocate you can probably argue that this could be one of those moves to intentionally throw you off. After all, we never thought we’d lose Patrick Dempsey at the exact time in which we did.
