Why Scandal season 7’s Quinn episode is all the more significant
Wouldn’t it make sense for Rhimes to co-write an episode of her own show? Sure, but at the same time it’s not something that actually happens all that often for episodes in the middle of a season. Rhimes has a tendency more to take on some of these duties for premieres and finales — typically the ones that she writes/co-writers during the season are ones that are extremely significant in one way or another. This bodes well for how “Good People” is going to fare in the overall canon for the series.
Below, CarterMatt has the official “Good People” synopsis for you:
“The harrowing events that transpired in Rowan’s basement are revealed, from the moment Quinn was kidnapped to the earth-shattering gunshot that rocked Olivia to her core.”
We actually think the bigger story here is Rhimes co-writing the episode than anything that is in here, mostly because of the fact that this information has all been professed in one way or another already. For example, we saw much of this information teased in the recent promo for this episode.
The one thing that we do find very interesting about this synopsis is how it suggests that it could end with the gunshot. Does that mean that we’re not actually going to see all that much in terms of what happens on the other side of the gunshot? We certainly do have a reason to wonder about that. The main appeal of this episode is learning whether or not Quinn is really dead, and it is possible that this is going to be something that Rhimes and the producers kick further down the road. We do know that Katie Lowes will appear in an episode beyond this one, but that doesn’t necessarily mean 100% that she is alive. Remember, flashbacks and dream sequences are always possible.
