Outlander season 3 DVD pre-orders become available
If you head over to Amazon, you can go ahead and pre-order the third season now for when it does eventually come out — though unfortunately, there is no confirmed release date for it just yet. There is also very little of an established release-date precedent for this show, though typically DVD collections tend to come out a month or two before the start of a new season.
Back many years ago, we used to think that getting collections of most TV shows was essential; however, after that we started to fall into the camp of “there’s no reason to buy DVDs anymore when the vast majority of shows are on Netflix.” Well, we’re now once again in the camp of “buy DVD collections again.” The reason for this is threefold:
1. You don’t know how long shows are going to be available through other mediums – While it’s hard to think that Starz is suddenly going to stop carrying Outlander at some point in the future, we know that with some other streaming services we’ve been burned. Take, for example, Netflix no longer carrying Psych and Chuck, two of our favorite shows that have gone the way of the dodo on there.

2. You don’t always have internet – If you are traveling and don’t have access to high-quality internet, all of a sudden it becomes useful to have a hard copy of something that you can just pop in and play without as many loading screens or buffering issues.
3. The collector’s item of it all – If you’re ever hoping to meet one of the cast / producers, you can’t get them to sign your stuff. There’s something nice that comes with having the actual hard copy of a thing and being able to get people involved in the project to sign it for you.
