Is Supergirl season 3 episode 11 the Saturn Girl story?

Supergirl season 3 episode 11 is entitled “Fort Rozz,” but it may as well also be titled “the biggest Saturn Girl story to date.” Obviously, it’s clear why The CW isn’t going with that because it’s a super-unwieldy name for an episode, but it would actually be appropriate given that this installment is going to give you so many more layers and dimensions to this character.

To date, Saturn Girl a.k.a. Imra has not been an easy character for some fans to love just because of her introduction — after all, she and Mon-El are married. It’s almost hard for any character to succeed when they are introduced as a barrier between two characters who’ve been together for a long time and are beloved by many fans. Yet, we do think that there are opportunities for Imra to be more than just a barrier — we already know that she idolizes Kara and feels terrible about the situation. Yet, she also wants to help and will on Monday night.

We love some of the honesty and perspective Amy Jackson (who plays Saturn Girl) gives on the subject to ComicBook.com discussing some of the difficulties that exist for her character and the role she’s going to play in helping to stop Reign:

“Can I be honest? I was a fan of the show before and I was also a Karamel [shipper] before I even signed the show … So I am actually a fan of them also, but I think because I did my homework about the character itself, I knew I was getting into a sticky situation because it’s already formed a relationship beforehand with Mon-El and Kara, but I know that this character is going to be very appreciated and loved because she is a strong character in herself. I think in this episode especially, there’s a bond between Supergirl and Saturn Girl, which is nice. It’s not all directly about the relationship and being Mon-El’s wife. I think that’s a totally different side to what people have seen before. I’m excited for people to see that, and to hopefully be accepted more into the Supergirl world.”

Saturn Girl is going to be far from the only character who lends a helping hand within this episode. After all, you are also going to be getting an opportunity within here to see the likes of Livewire and Psi, two previous villains who are going to be doing their best to be a little bit more heroic.
