Should a Suits season 8 renewal happen? The wait continues
We’ve already reported recently that an announcement for the future of the USA series will be coming up soon. Beyond that, the focus now shifts over to seeing what could be coming for the series after the fact.
All signs, at least at the moment, do point to a Suits season 8 renewal happening on USA. For starters, we do know that there is a certain demand that is out there for it already and that there are probably many people who would be interested in watching. Even without Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams as a part of the cast, the series luckily does still have demand coming from some other places. For example, you’re going to have a chance potentially to see more of Harvey and Donna, and we hope that Louis Litt will still be a part of the picture. (Granted, it’s not 100% confirmed that Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, and Rick Hoffman would return, but we want to hope that they would.)
Would Suits be the same without Mike and Rachel? No, but at the same time we also don’t want to see a great story stopped early if there is still more to tell. Think of things this way: If you’re a Darvey ‘shipper, you want there to be time to see that story through. Six episodes at the end of season 7 may not be enough time to tell that story, as the two parties only recently kissed and there are clearly complications to any potential relationship there. This is a story that would benefit from an eighth season, and we would like to get a chance to see what the firm would look like with a new dynamic. We know that there’s a chance that Suits could end and the story would continue with the Jessica Pearson spin-off, but we’d rather have that show focus more on telling its own story than trying to resolve others from another season.
We imagine that all of the flux with the cast is one of the reasons why a Suits season 8 renewal is taking so long; hopefully, there will be a chance for some additional news in the near future.
