Poldark season 4 filming wraps; now, waiting for premiere date begins
In a post on the show’s official Twitter account this glorious news was made official. Now, the long wait begins for some sort of insight when it comes to a premiere date. When you consider this wrap date you could easily make the argument that Poldark season 4 would be complete in time for the series to air on the BBC this spring. Yet, we would be surprised if that happens given that the third season did so well in most of the ratings in the summer. Why move something into a different timeslot when there is really no reason to do so? The summer offers up a little more stability and an escape for people who have just spent the day outdoors.
For all of you American readers out there, we don’t foresee there being all that much that is going to change the Poldark season 4 premiere date here — it’s almost certainly going to stay in the fall. PBS likes to have consistency with most of their shows and there is a nice spot carved out for it over there. (If that changes, we’ll obviously let you know.)
The story for Poldark season 4 is going to feature the title character (played by Aidan Turner) many years older and wiser, doing his best to help most of Cornwall by navigating tough political and social waters. All the while, he also still needs to figure out how to be better in tune with his wife Demelza. We’ve also got a feeling that some familiar Poldark villains, including Osbourne Whitworth and George Warleggan, are going to be around to cause plenty of problems at the same time.
