This Is Us Super Bowl episode start time revealed
Before we get to the start time itself, remember this: The Super Bowl is airing on Sunday, February 4 on NBC. While the precise story of the episode has not been revealed as of yet, the events of today’s NFL games pretty much negate the chance of there being some sort of Steelers-themed episode. (We know that the Pearsons are big Steeler fans; they probably wouldn’t have liked losing to Blake Bortles.)
NBC has yet to reveal the official title for this episode yet, but they have made one other thing 100% clear: The episode is going to formally begin, at least at present, at 10:15 p.m. Eastern time. This is very much a time subject to change. If the game is super-short for whatever reason, there is a perfectly good chance that we end up seeing things happen a little bit early. More than likely, the episode is going to start a little bit later just because this is what often happens when it comes to NFL football — it never ends as early as you would expect for it to going in.
The post-Super Bowl episode of almost any show is typically one of the highest-rated events of the year, sports excluded. Given that This Is Us is already one of TV’s top-rated shows we do anticipate some big numbers coming in for this episode. Yet, at the same time we’re not sure they will set any recent records. The big challenge for the writers here is coming up with a story that will appeal to people who have never seen This Is Us before since a number of them will certainly be watching — obviously the show will appeal to many of the diehard fans.
If this is a sensational episode, This Is Us may be able to find themselves some more viewers. Typically, though, we have a tendency to find that Super Bowl ratings don’t ever stick around and shows regress to the mean rather quickly.
