Big Little Lies season 2 spoilers: Bonnie to have big role in the story

Who’s ready for a little more Big Little Lies season 2 scoop? We suppose that we should just start this off with a little bit of surprise that we’re even getting some Big Little Lies season 2 scoop so soon. When the first season — ahem, limited series — based on the Liane Moriarty novel aired, we thought that it would be a couple of years at the earliest before we heard buzz on more. Yet, clearly Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon loved working on this so much (and so did writer David E. Kelley) that they were able to figure out a way to tell even more stories.

One of the things that comes along with getting to tell new stories is finding ways to use some of the existing characters more. With that in mind, we bring you the good news that Zoe Kravitz’s Bonnie is going to have a larger role, as you get to see a little bit more of her family coming up. In speaking on this subject in a little more of an in-depth manner to TVLine, HBO boss Casey Bloys (who clearly knows a lot about what is coming up story-wise) had the following to say on the subject:

“We’re going to get more into [Bonnie’s] family … The nice thing about doing a second season is you can get more into all of the characters.”

It’s very much true that there are tremendous rewards reaped from getting to see more of the show, especially since Big Little Lies season 1 was so short that it didn’t offer up a whole lot of time to cultivate stories for many of the characters outside of the main few. There will be more time for Bonnie (who we didn’t get to know a whole lot about outside of her seeming like that incredibly cool person you always wished you could be) and some others coming up depending on whether or not some other favorites from season 1 turn back up. While we have a hard time imagining that anyone would willingly not want to be a part of this show, sometimes scheduling problems and other matters come into play. That just happens when you are an extremely-popular performer and you weren’t necessarily thinking that there was going to be a second season at the time in which you made the first one.

Hopefully, we’ll have a little bit more news on the Big Little Lies season 2 cast in the weeks ahead.
