Big Little Lies season 2 filming: Nicole Kidman reveals start date

Reese Witherspoon

Just in case you were interested in learning more about Big Little Lies season 2 filming, we like to think that Nicole Kidman delivered during an interview on CNN New Year’s Eve.

Speaking to Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen alongside her husband Keith Urban tonight, Kidman confirmed that March is when things are going to begin when it comes to Big Little Lies season 2 airing on HBO. This is going to be a big season, but by and large almost everything about it is being kept a secret. For now, the only thing that has been confirmed 100% is that Kidman and Reese Witherspoon are both returning in order to reprise their season 1 roles.

As for when the second season of the show is going to premiere, signs point to at some point in 2019 — though we have to say that HBO is starting to get a rather crowded schedule when it comes to programming on the night there. You have, first and foremost, the final season of Game of Thrones premiering then, and then beyond that the network also is probably going to have the third season of True Detective at some point. We’d be interested in seeing if HBO puts two of their premier drama series on the air at the same time, especially since that is not something that they have much of a tendency to do. They prefer to draw them out as a measure to keep subscribers for as long as they possibly can.

For those who didn’t really care so much about the Big Little Lies season 2 news, there was a pretty funny moment that came courtesy of Kidman throwing a little bit of shade at Cohen when he asked her what was a fairly silly question. Then again, you could argue that this was almost the perfect way to describe this night in a nutshell: Silly. There wasn’t all that much in the way of notable or interesting content and really, we’re just waiting for the clock to strike midnight.
