The Fosters season 5 episode 11 preview: ‘Invisible’ brings another Maia Mitchell storyline

The Fosters season 5 episode 11 carries with it the title of “Invisible,” and at the forefront of this hour is going to be a big Maia Mitchell storyline … one that continues to show that even in spite of various warnings, Callie refuses to back down.

So how far will Callie go in order to help Ximena? Let’s just say that she’ll stop at nothing when it comes to her own use of social media to get the word out there. We saw some of that tonight, and we’re probably going to continue to see that moving forward.

Callie actively helps to make Ximena’s fight visible. Meanwhile, Brandon and Grace struggle to be intimate knowing her diagnosis and Mariana is suddenly courted by multiple suitors.

The Ximena storyline is probably one of the two that will be the most notable within this hour. The other one is going to be seeing the continuance of the relationship between Brandon and Grace, two characters who have clearly gone through a lot over the course of this season alone. You’re going to see them struggle here — while they try to keep their romance alive, at the same time Grace is undergoing a risky gene therapy. In the long run it could actually make her healthier and safer than she’s ever been; yet, simultaneously it’s also putting her in a great deal of risk. While she’s probably used to confronting her own mortality thanks to everything that she’s been through, facing off with this is going to causer her to do it in a way that is far more immediate than she has with leukemia.

Ultimately, the major thing to know when it comes to The Fosters is this: We are clearly now in the stretch run. There are only a handful of episodes remaining until the end of the show, and while there may be a spin-off coming up that can hardly be considered the same show.
