Golden Globes 2018 predictions: Will & Grace, Big Little Lies, Pamela Adlon poised to win

Golden Globes 2018 predictions

Are you ready for some final Golden Globes 2018 CarterMatt predictions going into tonight’s big show? Mere hours before the stars officially begin arriving on the red carpet, we’ve got a few more predictions to get to.

Where are the Golden Globes 2018 predictions for Drama Categories? We’ve already spotlighted those, so we recommend checking out our take on Drama Series, Drama Actor, and Drama Actress. Now, let’s get to the rest of the field. Note that these are not necessarily the performers we want to see win; instead, they are the shows and actors who we think will win.

Comedy Series – Will & Grace (NBC). We just foresee there being such a thirst out there for nostalgia and escapism that a fun, pleasant network comedy should prove to be incredibly appealing to most Golden Globes viewers out there.

Comedy Actress – Pamela Adlon, Better Things (FX). It’s probably between her and Alison Brie from GLOW; we do think that voters will side with Adlon just based on the overall strength of her powerful FX show.

Comedy Actor – Aziz Ansari, Master of None (Netflix). This is probably hardest category to get a read on just because there are so many great performers but no clear favorite. We’re going with Aziz mostly on the basis of the fact that he’s got the strongest overall show of the field.

Limited Series / Movie – Big Little Lies (HBO). Let’s not pretend here. It’s going to win, and it’s probably not even going to be close.

Limited Series / Movie Actress – Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies (HBO). We certainly wouldn’t mind seeing either Jessica Biel or Jessica Lange take this trophy home, but this is the year of Big Little Lies and we don’t see that changing here.

Limited Series / Movie Actor – Robert De Niro, The Wizard of Lies (HBO). Do you really think that the Hollywood Foreign Press is going to pass up a chance to honor De Niro? Don’t count on it.

Supporting Actor – Alexander Skarsgard, Big Little Lies (HBO). After playing the role of Perry as intensely as he did, it’s hard to imagine anyone not giving Skarsgard a trophy here.

Supporting Actress – Chrissy Metz, This Is Us (NBC). We’re going with the underdog here! We do think that some of the Big Little Lies stars are going to cancel each other out here and there could be a real push for sentimentality for a change. Metz is extraordinary and she’s had wonderful material this year.
