The Flash season 4 episode 11 to be Elongated Man’s signature story
Will The Flash season 4 episode 11 force him to figure it out? They synopsis for “The Elongated Knight Rises” below indicates as much:
THE RISE OF THE HERO – When a familiar villain returns to terrorize Central City, Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) must rise up to defend the innocent while Barry (Grant Gustin) is detained by his trial. Meanwhile, Barry searches for the strength to keep his optimism alive in the face of his new circumstances. Alexandra La Roche directed the episode written by Sterling Gates & Thomas Pound (#411). Original airdate 1/23/2018.
Isn’t the return of a familiar villain exciting? Certainly so, but it would be rather nice to know who this said familiar villain is. Either way, this episode should prove to be a fun showcase for Sawyer as this character, who to date has battled some of his “demons” (if you can call them that) while running around in the world’s smallest superhero suit and sporting what appears to be a modified pillowcase for a mask. It’s somewhat ridiculous, but we also rather like that he doesn’t has some sort of formal costume at the moment. This is the thing that has to be earned rather than given right away.

When it comes to what lies ahead for Barry as he awaits his future, the #1 standout thing is that circumstances aren’t getting better for him between 4×10 and 4×11. Clearly, there are no plans to make “The Trial of the Flash” a one-time circumstance for the character. It’s an issue that he will have to fight for at least another episode or two, and it remains a rather difficult dilemma for him. If he speeds away from the trial, then A) everyone knows he is the Flash and B) everyone still thinks that he’s a murderer. As a matter of fact, they may think that more than ever.
