Chicago Med season 3 spoilers: Can Dr. Halstead win over Dr. Manning’s son?

Dr. Manning's son

A little later this month on Chicago Medwe’re finally going to presumably see a character appear — or at least be involved — in a way that they haven’t been in a long time. We’re speaking here, of course, about Dr. Manning’s son. He’s referenced here and there on the NBC show (see the child seat at the start of this past episode), but often not in a way that is tangible or explicit. Since the majority of this show’s episodes tend to take place entirely within the confines of a single set and focus mostly on the patients, there’s really not all that much time to explore other avenues.

Well, that’s changing slightly on the upcoming January 23 episode entitled “Lemons and Lemonade.” During this installment you’re going to see Will doing just about everything that he can to win over Natalie’s son — we’re not sure if the kid is old enough in order to properly understand what is going on with Will, but he will probably batch on over time if he ends up staying put.

What we do like about this story tremendously is the opportunity to see Will have a little bit of fun — usually, storylines with kids tend to be lighthearted. We do think he’ll prove to be good at this, given that he does have the sort of friendly, playful demeanor you would want.

Also, you’re going to need a little bit of humor and lightheartedness given that there is some really dark stuff coming elsewhere on the show. Dr. Choi is going to do everything that he can over the course of the hour to help someone suffering from anorexia, but unfortunately this is the sort of disease that is not always easy to heal. Our hearts are going to be breaking watching this one.

Related – Who could be suspended on Chicago Med Tuesday night?

We mention this suspension because no matter who ends up getting sent away from the hospital for a while, they will be returning during “Lemons and Lemonade.” They’ll have a chance to rebuild their standing at the hospital — hopefully, their colleagues will be accepting of them … and hopefully they’ll also have an opportunity to change.
