MacGyver season 2 episode 13 preview: Meet Ashley Tisdale as Allie!

MacGyver season 2 episode 13 (airing next week) is an episode that has a couple of big creative pushes to it. For starters, you’ve got one of the biggest names to guest star on the CBS series in Ashley Tisdale. Beyond that, you also have an opportunity to see one of the most entertaining stories we’ve had for Jack Dalton all season! He’s going to be heading back to high school, and the idea of him having some sort of beef with a guy who beat him for homecoming king sounds like one of the most Jack Dalton things imaginable. It’s ridiculous and over-the-top, but also pretty darn perfect for this character. Sure, it’s possible that this said guy is actually a criminal and Jack has multiple motives for wanting to take him out; it’s pretty darn funny either way.

“CO2 Sensor + Tree Branch” – While Mac participates in a challenge for government operatives to create robotic combat machines, Mac must help his biggest competitor, Allie (Ashley Tisdale), when her vehicle is hacked and heads to the Pentagon. Also, Jack attends his high school reunion, hoping for a showdown with his old rival who beat him out for homecoming king, on MACGYVER, Friday, Jan. 12 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Ashley Tisdale guest stars as Allie, a CIA operative, Mac’s former fling and his biggest competitor in the Challenge.

The fact that Tisdale’s Allie is a former fling of Mac’s probably does add a few new wrinkles to the story, mostly because their past together could inform many of the decisions that the parties make … let alone whether or not they end up getting together again. It’s probably sad, but there’s still a part of us that thinks that the young woman Zoe, (who died earlier this season) could’ve very well have been the perfect person for Mac.

Let’s end this preview on a lighter note. If you love episodes of MacGyver that offer up a great mix of action and comedy, it’s pretty hard to be upset about anything that we’re seeing here.
