Chicago Med season 3 episode 5 video: Will’s case puts him in danger

With Chicago Med season 3 episode 5 airing on NBC Tuesday night, we’re almost at the time in which an important question is going to be answered: What’s going on with Dr. Will Halstead? Is he really going to be okay?

Obviously, in most cases we would not even be asking this question. After all, Will is a doctor finely trained in handling each and every crisis that is thrown in his direction. It’s a little bit different, however, when you’re talking about a problem that ends up directly effecting him. Typically he doesn’t become impacted in some way by the ailment he is treating … until now.

The sneak peek below courtesy of NBC offers up a small tease of what is coming for the character, as Will does his best to stave off a bizarre shaking in his leg. The origins of this case come via a woman who finds herself mysteriously paralyzed. Will and Natalie will team up in order to uncover the origin of precisely what happened to her, but this is one of those cases where the truth is not easy to find. Common diagnoses are checked off and the longer this search goes, the more obvious it will appear as though something’s off with Will. By the end of the episode, the character is going to end up in bed. It’s not all that often you see a doctor on this show ultimately become a patient, but this is a reminder of the severity of some of the work that they do. It’s hard to navigate every single situation that comes into the hospital. Some will have unforeseen consequences.

Are we feeling confident that Will will emerge from this ailment without missing a beat? You better believe it … eventually. For one, having Will randomly die so soon after he and Natalie got together would be the equivalent of Chicago Med’s entire producing team kicking the fandom down into a pit of despair. Beyond just that, it would be a rather ho-hum way to get rid of an original cast member. If you want to make a big move and kill someone off, we’d like for it to be as epic as humanly possible.
