Chicago Med season 3 episode 6 spoilers: Big Natalie Manning story ahead

Natalie Manning

Chicago Med season 3 episode 6 (airing on January 9) is the second episode of 2018 for the NBC series and at the center of it is going to be Dr. Natalie Manning continuing to do some of what she does best. However, what may be a little bit different here is that Manning’s story is somewhat independent of Dr. Halstead or any other doctor. While it’s fun to see her paired off, she’s always going to have her own cases and her own matters to deal with. The story in this episode, entitled “Ties That Bind,” is going to put her in a tough position where she has to pass along news that nobody really wants to hear.

Below, CarterMatt has for you the full Chicago Med season 3 episode 6 synopsis:

01/09/2018 (10:01PM – 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : NATALIE IS TASKED WITH SHARING SURPRISING NEWS TO A PATIENT WHILE GOODWIN AND MAGGIE HATCH A PLAN – Ethan (Brian Tee) attempts to diagnose a man with no symptoms while Sarah’s (Rachel DiPillo) paranoia goes to the extreme when she uses pepper spray on an aggressive patient. Will (Nick Gehlfuss) treats a young couple willing to sacrifice anything in order to have a baby. Meanwhile, Natalie (Torrey DeVitto) must inform a woman that she was sterilized as a young girl without knowledge, and Goodwin (S. Eptha Merkerson) and Maggie (Marlyne Barret) devise a way to persuade paramedics to bring in more patients. Oliver Platt, Yaya DaCosta, Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling also star. Eddie Jemison and Roland Buck III guest star. TV-14

Who would sterilize a little girl and not tell them about it? Clearly, this is one of the many mysteries that this episode is going to bring to the table — one of the other stories being if we’re going to see Sarah Reese start to really struggle under the weight of her job. She’s felt guilt ever since the death of Jack Kellogg — she feels responsible for it and the tension between her and Dr. Charles has spiked numerous times this season. Is she right to use the pepper spray? The synopsis makes it seem somewhat ambiguous. If the patient is aggressive towards her it’s understandable; yet, the word “paranoia” is also thrown in there to suggest that Sarah interprets the situation as being worse than it is.
