The Bachelor spotlight: Meet Jenny Delaney, artist and graphic designer

Jenny Delaney

Graphic designer Jenny Delaney is one of the contestants competing on The Bachelor featuring Arie Luyendyk Jr., and if there is one thing we’ve come to learn about her it is this: She really likes art. As a matter of fact, she likes art so much that she has her own Instagram account all about it. She apparently does time-lapse drawings of various athletes, with Dirk Nowitzki being one of her recent ones. As a longtime Dallas Mavericks fan we want to give her some credit for this and this alone.

As if this wasn’t enough she also has her own personal Instagram, which means she’ll be trying to double-dip with the followers if she makes it far enough in the season. Based on some of what we’re seeing about her we’re not altogether sure she has much of a chance. Arie seems to be many things, but artsy is not one of them. He’s more the guy who seems like he would go to the art gallery if there was a chance he’d get to do something that he wanted afterwards as some sort of a make-good.

One of the good things about Jenny is that she’s got something of a stable career so it doesn’t feel entirely as though she’s coasting on this show looking for fame. She’s 25 years old, is from Chicago, and there are a couple of interesting things about her judging from her bio alone. For one, she’s a fan of Space Jam — who doesn’t love Lola Bunny as a result of that? Unless you’ve watched that movie there is probably a pretty good chance that you don’t even know who Lola Bunny is. Beyond that, her guilty pleasure involves both pizza and reality TV< which basically is a reminder that she likes to do what the majority of Bachelor viewers are going to be doing on Monday nights throughout the season.

One of Jenny’s biggest fears is picking the wrong person to marry … well Jenny, marrying someone also thirsty for reality TV fame may not be the right move here.

What are her chances with Arie? – There’s a chance that this actually works in a weird, opposites-attract some of way. We know that Arie does like blondes and while there’s a big age difference here, you can say that about the majority of the women who are a part of this season. The big concern with Jenny’s long-term abilities to stay on The Bachelor this season is that there’s a reasonably good shot that she decides that this nonsense isn’t worth it about four or five weeks in and she just decides to pack it in and go home.
