Outlander season 4: Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe’s Christmas greeting — plus our own

Caitriona Balfe's Christmas greeting

After receiving holiday messages in the past from Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, we’re not altogether shocked to see Starz share another one today from the Outlander season 4 set.

If you look below, you can see what amounts to a humorous exchange from the two actors during a break in filming. It’s a lovely, funny Christmas greeting that is capped off by Sam and Caitriona seemingly getting set to douse one another with champagne (much to the horror of the entire costuming department). It’s a fun message, but beyond that this video also serves as the tiniest of teases for what the season 4 set is going to look like. Claire (Balfe) and Jamie (Heughan) are going to be moving over from Georgia, where they were at the end of season 3, to North Carolina to continue their epic love story. For the first time really in the entire series, the two parties are going to get an opportunity to be a little less nomadic. They can settle down in a single place, and as a result of that start to figure out what they want their lives to look like.

Filming for season 4 is, of course, on hiatus from now until early on in the year. The moment that everyone does return to Scotland in order to get filming back underway, you better believe that we’ll have some more updates on that. This new season, pending some sort of dramatic surprise, is going to be premiering on Starz in late 2018.

For now, we hope that the entire Outlander cast and crew is enjoying a nice break and spending time with all of their friends and loved ones.

Our own Christmas message

We just wanted to spend a moment here to thank everyone for their kindness, their gratitude, their feedback, and all of the support of our Outlander coverage over the past year. While we’ve enjoyed very much covering the show over the past few years, 2017 has felt especially wonderful. We’re incredibly grateful and excited for what 2018 has in store.

With that said, we’re not at the end of the road yet when it comes to our 2017 coverage! Be sure to check back over the coming week to get even more pieces about Outlander.
