What’s on tonight, December 24: It’s a Wonderful Life, The Simpsons, Family Guy Christmas Specials

Wonderful Life - Simpsons

Are you interested in seeing what to watch on December 24? It’s Christmas Eve? It’s fair to say it’s one of the most wonderful nights of the year! There are gifts, tons of hot cocoa, and all sorts of great time spend with your loved ones. It’s the sort of day that many people out there will cherish for years to come.

Obviously, this is not the busiest night of the year in terms of television programming, but there are still a few worthy things to check out! For one, there are marathons — we’ve already put up a list of some of the most notable Christmas Eve marathons out there, so be sure to check that out.

Below, we’ve got a few other highlights in terms of what’s actually coming on the air tonight — note that all of the times listed are ET, so adjust accordingly depending on where you love.

It’s a Wonderful Life (8:00 p.m., NBC) – It wouldn’t be Christmas without it. Its ratings are incredible year after year despite this being a movie that first came out more than 70 years ago. It’s touching, it’s relatable, and it’s a great reminder as to what the holiday season is about.

Beauty and the Beast (8:00 p.m., ABC) – The Emma Watson movie has been the recipient of more buzz recently, but this remains the original classic — it’s not Christmas-related, but it does have a message perfect for the whole family.

The Simpsons (8:00 p.m., Fox) – The network is airing one of their recent holiday episodes in “The Nightmare Before Krustmas,” pictured above. It’ll get you in the spirit in the way that only The Simpsons can.

Family Guy (9:00 p.m., Fox) – Expect to see a great example here of what happens when Peter doubles as a mall Santa and suddenly realizes that he has a whole lot of power.

I Love Lucy Christmas Special (8:00 p.m., CBS) – Want to enjoy some really old-school comedy? Here’s your chance! It’s followed up by a colorized version of The Dick Van Dyke Show.

The Girlfriend Experience (9:00 p.m., Starz) – Will this be the end of the road for the series? We do know that tonight marks the season 2 finale.

If you are in need of family entertainment, remember that Fuller House is still streaming over on Netflix. If you love Marvel movies, there are a ton of them airing tonight on USA.
