The 100 season 5 spoilers: Power alum Mike Dopud cast as villain

Mike Dopud

With The 100 season 5 premiering at some point in the new year, it is rather nice to get an extra dose of casting news.

According to a report coming in right now via Deadline, Mike Dopud of Power fame will be appearing over the course of the new batch of episodes as a mysterious man named Vinson. Remember the ship that landed at the end of season 4? Well, Vinson is one of the mysterious men aboard it and he comes with some significant baggage. He’s violent, he’s ruthless, and there are some comparisons between him and a serial killer: This is not the sort of guy who you want to mess with. The fact that he’s also highly intelligent is basically the icing on top of this terrifying cake for everyone else on the show — they will have to go up against this man and the end results of that could be somewhat severe.

While we’re worried about what Vinson could mean for Clarke, Bellamy, and many of the other core characters on the show, we do think having potential adversaries is necessary. It raises the stakes for everyone and the heroes it brings out some of their best qualities. There’s nothing that tests your mettle quite like squaring off with someone who has wicked intentions.

The 100 season 5 is likely coming back in the spring, and while there is no guarantee at the moment that this will be the final season of the show we do think the cast and crew feel the pressure. It’s one of the lower-rated series in this genre on the network and it needs to find a way to retain all of its viewers from season 4. Would it be nice to gain some new ones along the way? Sure, but we don’t want to set the bar too high since typically shows do lose viewers year to year. For now, we know that it’s not being planned as the final season.

As we look beyond this The 100 season 5 – Mike Dopud casting news, we’ve got some other great discussion on the show. One of the things that we suggest you check out is the story here, since that gives you a sense of some of the latest premiere speculation.
