While The CW may have confirmed many of their midseason premiere dates on Thursday, there are unfortunately some shows that are still left out in the cold. This CarterMatt article is all about taking a look at them while also wondering just when they could be coming — and where on the schedule.
The Originals – Given that this is a show in its final season we’re absolutely invested in getting a chance to see it through; unfortunately, all signs at the moment point to the Vampire Diaries spin-off not coming back on the air until we get around to March, more than likely. For the time being, you can probably also expect it to air on Fridays. Given that this is the final season, there is zero reason for the show to push for ratings.
The 100 – The Eliza Taylor series surprisingly doesn’t have a premiere date in early January or February, and there unfortunately aren’t many spots open in the schedule. It could either air on Mondays after Valor is over or save it until after Legends of Tomorrow concludes. There isn’t much room elsewhere in the schedule right now.
Life Sentence – Despite having a big star in Lucy Hale, could this show be put on Friday nights? It seems possible, given that it is similar in tone to both Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It could be paired at some point with The Originals … or put in the place of Valor, as already suggested.
iZombie – Here, we feel like the Rob Thomas series starring Rose McIver is probably going to get somewhat of the shaft — we anticipate that it’s not going to be coming back until later in the spring, especially since The CW already knows that it does well in that spot. In theory, it could premiere after almost any of the shows we mentioned, but we’re looking out for it on Wednesday nights. With the ratings for Dynasty being what they are we wouldn’t be shocked if the network burns through their remaining episodes to make way for this.
Once there is more info on any of these shows, rest assured that we’ll have it for you here.
