Supergirl season 3: A case for Livewire, Toyman, and Jesse Quick

Supergirl season 3 episode 4

With Supergirl still off the air on The CW until we get around to Monday, January 15, is there a better time than now to speculate on characters we want to see?

Across the Arrow-verse there are a number of great heroes and villains who pop in and out. Some of them we get a chance to see for a while and others leave far before their time. Below, you can take a look at four of the characters we most want to see on the show before the end of season 3 — in this case, three of them happen to be Supergirl characters who simply need more of a due.

Livewire – She was the “reformed” villain who Supergirl let loose in season 2, but who out there really wants to bet that she is actually reformed? Given that Cat Grant is in Washington now and Leslie hates Cat Grant, couldn’t she go down there and cause a little trouble? Brit Morgan was great as the character and there is a whole lot more story that could be left to tell here — especially in terms of Supergirl potentially helping someone she really shouldn’t have helped.

Toyman – Winn’s father was one of the more interesting villains on the series given that he wasn’t super-strong and couldn’t match up against Supergirl at all physically. He had to use his mind and we’re always glad to have more cognitive challengers on this show. Look at The Thinker over on The Flash. Given that we are going to see Laurie Metcalf stop by in the future as Winn’s mother, doesn’t it make sense that we get a chance to see Henry Czerny stop by again?

Silver Banshee – The unfortunate thing here is just that Italia Ricci is on Designated Survivor and doesn’t have the ability to appear in more than maybe one episode of this show, if that. She’s locked up in prison somewhere but don’t you think that the producers will want to revisit her at some point?

Jesse Quick – This one probably feels totally random because A) she’s the only character not from Supergirl and B) other than her speed and her father, we don’t really know a whole lot about her. This is what would make her appearing over here fun. It’s a chance for Kara to have another superhero friend and be a bit of a mentor to someone who is still a little more inexperienced in using her powers. Also, it could flesh out the Jesse character beyond her relationship to other people.
