Grey’s Anatomy season 14 filming wraps up for 2017

Grey's Anatomy season 14 filming

Grey’s Anatomy season 14 filming may be far from over — but it’s definitely over for the calendar year.

In a new post on Instagram (which you can see the bottom of this CarterMatt article), Camilla Luddington confirmed that December 15 was the final day of production in 2017 for the series. She did this while sharing a very fun photo of herself alongside Justin Chambers (Alex) in between takes.

It certainly makes sense that it would be Luddington who was to share this news. When Grey’s Anatomy does return to ABC in January (you can find out more information on the return date over at the link here) it will be doing so with an episode that features Jo in the midst of a crisis. Her estranged, abusive husband Dr. Paul Stadler (Matthew Morrison) is going to be returning and with that also comes a significant amount of fear. Is there a way that she can divorce him while also not being harmed by him? We’ve already see him confront her at the hospital and while we know that he won’t harm her in public (he has a reputation as a doctor that he’ll want to continue to use as his mask), he is probably going to find a way to get to her as soon as her shift ends. She’ll need some help, but she’s also smart enough to know how to get that help. She was able to avoid him for many years just because she found a way to out-think him.

On the other side of the Paul crisis and the divorce battle, hopefully the final stretch of Grey’s Anatomy episodes will offer up an opportunity to see more of Jo and Alex actually happy together. Other than a few episodes earlier this season the two really haven’t had a chance to do that other than years ago when they were first together. Based on where Grey’s Anatomy is in filming right now (they’re several episodes ahead) Jo and Alex may already be in that place.
