Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 9 return date for Ellen Pompeo, cast
There is no new episode airing on ABC next week — after all, it is Thanksgiving! What’s a little more newsworthy is that there is not a new episode airing on November 23 — or November 30, for that matter. You’re going to be waiting until January 18, 2018 in order to see the ninth episode of the season, and from there we’ll get a chance to see a run of new episodes once more. Well more than half the season is still to come so it’s hardly a situation here where we only have a little bit of story to look forward to.
These sort of lengthy winter hiatuses are common with Grey’s Anatomy — the show is serialized enough that executive producer Shonda Rhimes and the rest of the cast and crew should want the episodes to air in batches. That’s true even if there are some longer breaks that you see in between.
As for what we want to see when it comes to the second half of season 14, much of what we want to see for Meredith revolves around some of what we saw in the 300th episode. Meredith is now known as one of the best in her field and is really well-known among the entire medical community in America. How does she cope with that? Meredith is the sort of doctor who likes to put her head down and get to work, and that is hopefully going to be something that we get to see her struggle with moving forward. More people are going to try and take her away from what she’s doing because of her new-found fame.
As for relationships, obviously we’re interested in seeing where things go with Jo and Alex now that they are back together — we know that there could be some major issues for them ahead.
