Lethal Weapon season 2 episode 11 preview: A counterfeiting case

Riggs and Murtaugh are thrown into the world of counterfeit money. When a group of teenagers inadvertently gets involved, it strikes a chord with Murtaugh, who is dealing with his own issues regarding his son, RJ. Meanwhile, Riggs decides to pay a visit to someone from his past in the all-new “Funny Money” winter premiere episode of LETHAL WEAPON airing Tuesday, Jan. 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
The promo below is a little more focused on Riggs’ dad, and it’s still pretty remarkable to us that this guy is still alive. How does he survive a shooting like that? Is Riggs’ father secretly Kryptonian or something? There are many interesting questions to be asked here, but for now the big takeaway from the promo is that this is a man who is going to continue to haunt Riggs, and also make him consider walking past a line that he had previously tried to avoid. This seems to be the personal story for Riggs that won’t be resolved in the immediate future — we’d be shocked if it did! Expect this to be a thread that we continue to watch unravel over time. There’s still plenty of time to go this season and with that likely comes plenty of drama.
While everything we’ve talked about to date sounds reasonably serious, don’t worry about the show abandoning its tone anytime soon — it’s still going to be funny and not out of whack with what it’s brought to the table so far. It just may present some of its humor in a slightly-different way.
