Chicago PD season 5: Why did Ruzek make the choice he did?
So what caused him to make this choice, and how good does Ruzek feel about it? Speaking on this subject to TV Guide, the man behind this role in Patrick John Flueger had the following to say:
“This is the moment where the choice is laid out. It’s either you’re gonna go with the red pill or the blue pill and you have to pick. Up until now, he’s been sitting in the middle, he’s been trying to satisfy all sides. When it comes down to it, he feels he has a sense of honor and his sister’s probably not going to suffer that many consequences. [But] he’s probably gonna go to jail…and for a while. He’d rather sit in prison for a few years knowing what he did was right.”
The story on Chicago PD season 5 from here is likely going to pick up almost immediately where the fall finale left off, and that includes giving us answers on Ruzek and Voight. We have a hard time imagining that Adam ends up going to prison for years given that this show would not be anywhere near the same without him — the fun of this story, at least for us, will come in how relative peace is restored to Intelligence once more. We certainly are not expecting a peaceful existence there in the wake of everything that’s happened, but these are characters who often just have to find a way to take the next step forward. There isn’t a whole lot of time for sitting around and thinking about what transpired previously.
