Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 11 spoilers: Christmas spirit
Based on the Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 11 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below we know that we are going to see an episode structured a little bit different than you’re used to:
“’Oni kalalea ke kū a ka lā’au loa”– It’s Christmas Eve and Danny tells Charlie a bedtime story about a recent Five-0 case involving bad Santas and a holiday miracle, on HAWAII FIVE-0, at a special time, Friday, Dec. 15 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Real-life military veterans Jason Redman, Steven Jackel, Kathryn Taylor-Smith and J. Eddie Martinez guest star as veterans who help McGarrett with the case.
(“’Oni kalalea ke kū a ka lā’au loa” is Hawaiian for “A Tall Tree Stands Above the Others”)
One of the things that you should note here is the different timeslot — Hawaii Five-0 is actually airing two different episodes that night and this is the one that will actually air in the place of Blue Bloods. It makes sense for this to be the final one given that Christmas episodes tend to be the last ones that you get for CBS shows before the winter hiatus.
There’s a lot to like about this episode in particular, whether it be the presence of veterans (good on CBS for naming who they are in advance) to also seeing Danny talk about the case in the form of a bedtime story. As for whether or not it’s a good idea to tell Charlie a story that involves Five-0 exploits (aren’t these rather violent?) right before bed, that’s a question that we’ve debated for a while. Still, the idea of there being potential criminals dressed in Santa suits is always funny. The Hawaii Five-0 holiday specials are always our favorites – no one else celebrates the holidays on TV quite like this show does.
