Arrow season 6 midseason finale will feature another Olicity wedding
The photo above is the proof that there’s going to be another ceremony-of-sorts taking place during this episode entitled “Irreconcilable Differences,” which really isn’t the sort of title you would expect to come alongside this sort of happy ceremony. (It actually sounds more like the opposite of a wedding, if you catch our drift).
The photo gives you a small sense as to what this ceremony will look like, and it of course makes some sense that you would see an appearance of Charlotte Ross as Felicity’s mother Donna Smoak alongside Tom Amandes coming back as Noah a.k.a. the Calculator a.k.a. her dad. It’s nice to see that he’s putting all of his significant baggage aside for the sake of showing up and helping to celebrate her big day. Unfortunately for Oliver, his parents are no longer alive, but he has Felicity and that’s what really matters.
So why are we getting another Olicity wedding when we technically had a ceremony officiated by Diggle already? Well, it probably stems from two things: Olicity fans wanting to see a larger ceremony and it being somewhat necessary for Oliver in order to continue to look like an everyday human being in Star City. The Mayor isn’t the sort of person who is going to go off in secret and marry someone; he’s going to make it into a major event. This is in part what he seems to be doing here and we’re certainly interested to see how this impacts his image.
Unfortunately, the celebration for Oliver here is going to be brief as this story ultimately is going to chronicle the capture of Quentin Lance by Black Siren and Cayden James, who are quietly planning what they want their next major move to be. That’s going to be the story that potentially leaves you hanging as you wait for Arrow season 6 to return to the air in the new year.
