MacGyver season 2 casts Garrett Morris of 2 Broke Girls

Garrett Morris

2 Broke Girls alum Garrett Morris has just secured a guest spot on MacGyver season 2 — and this one looks to be a lot of fun!

According to a new report from TVLine, Morris is going to be appearing in an episode airing in early 2018 as the owner of a place called “Willy’s House of Voodoo” in New Orleans. This is exactly the sort of place that you would expect in a city like the Big Easy — it’s a tourist trap. It’s the sort of spot where people come to hoping to bring a touch of local culture home with him.

Beyond that though, Morris’ character is going to bring some other sort of valuable traits to the story. He knows almost everything that’s happening in New Orleans at all times. He also has a history with Jack, and that’s always entertaining. Granted, at this point we’re starting to wonder if there is anyone out there who doesn’t have a history with Jack — the dude seems to have a history of ruffling feathers all over the world.

The one thing that we thought of immediately after seeing this casting news is this: Why not have some sort of NCIS: New Orleans crossover? Can’t we get a situation where Mac meets Pride or another one of those main characters? In theory it would be great but it’s never quite so simple in these sort of situations. NCIS: New Orleans is actually filmed around the city whereas MacGyver films in the Atlanta area. The team isn’t actually heading to New Orleans; otherwise, we suspect that there’d be all sorts of talk about a big crossover. We know that the shows are in the same universe — MacGyver crossed over to Hawaii Five-0 last season, and Five-0 then crossed over to NCIS: Los Angeles. From there, NCIS: Los Angeles is of course a part of the same franchise that includes NCIS: New Orleans.

After a brief break for the Thanksgiving holiday MacGyver season 2 is going to be returning with a new episode on Friday night. Beyond that there are more stories still to come, including a Christmas episode that is going to be (hopefully) giving the cast a chance to ring in the holidays in the midst of a great deal of chaos.
