The Originals season 5 debate: Should Leah Pipes return as Cami?
Bringing Cami back is a little more complicated, even if she started off as a main character on The Originals and therefore has more ties to this show than Caroline does. After all, Cami’s dead — she’s actually died more than once on the show already! We saw the end of her as the psychologist trying to help Klaus and then also the newbie vampire. Her journey was a powerful one that also reminded Klaus that very little in the world is permanent — even when you are immortal. We would also consider her to be one of his great loves, someone who understood him in a way that very few others have over the years.
We should note here that we’re not necessarily saying that Cami and Klaus should be endgame — we know that there are ‘shippers out there of the two just as there are ‘shippers out there still rooting for him and Caroline to be together. In all honesty, Klaus is the sort of character who’s done so many terrible things that you can make an argument that he really isn’t worthy of having some sort of romantic ending to his story. Yet, we’ve also see the good in his heart and the proof that he is capable of so much more.
What we’d like to see for Cami, at the very least, is some sort of cameo in the final season — maybe it’s just a dream sequence or a flashback scene that we never saw on the show before. We know that characters are brought back to life on this show all the time but we almost don’t want that. It invalidates everything that came before and it makes her original death all the less poignant. We like to think of Cami now as Klaus’ guiding light, someone who helps him to see the right thing and will continue to be there to watch over him.
One more thing that we think is interesting to point out here about Klaus and Camille — the final moments featuring the two on the show together featured Klaus telling her “you will find peace.” If you think back to the series finale of The Vampire Diaries the word that the show uses for the afterlife is “Peace.” Did Julie Plec know what she was doing with the end of the flagship show a good couple of years in advance, or was this word choice coincidental? Either way, we hope that Cami is off somewhere happy in the event she never turns up on The Originals again. The character deserves that.

Yes, Yes, and YES. Caroline and Klaus were toxic not to mention, part of a different show. I spent 3 years invested in this character and now I am supposed to forget about her because Julie Plec wants a Hope spinoff? You know what is pointless? bringing back a character from a different show and taking time away from the Original’s characters, past and present.
Awesome

I don’t want Cami to come back. I agree with you that it would be pointless and undo all the hard work they done to make her death a significant one. Yes I’m a hardcore shipper for Klaroline but I did appreciate the relationship both Camille and Klaus had. I think before Klaus met Cami and was in TVD, he was very lost in many ways and childish. I think Cami helped him grow into himself and become more compassionate and mature. So I would like to see Cami’s influence help him become the man that Caroline would seek in a partner.

You make no sense. Stop trying to ruin The Originals with a different show’s boring abusive relationship and leave the Originals to it’s own cast. Cami is so much more than being some time piece for an abusive relationship from Caroline’s high school days.

Okay first of all, I’m not ruining the show at all. I’m just a viewer like yourself. Second of all, you’re entitled to your own opinion so if you feel that Klaroline relationship was abusive and boring then that’s your opinion. I do agree Cami was a very special and significant character to the audience and to its cast. But unfortunately she was written out and Caroline has matured over the later seasons in TVD so it would be nice to see her make more than one cameo appearance and see how their relationship is like now. At the end of the day, we love the show and we want to support it and that’s really what matters rather than who Klaus ends up with.

If she/he thinks it was an abusive relationship? Did you even watch the show? If you don’t think that was an abusive relationship even by TV standards there is something wrong with you.
Klaus and Cami made sense. She changed him, I get it. He never treated her that way ( and no compelling her to go on 2 dates with Marcel is not abuse)
What happened on TVD was disgusting. Julie Plec wanting that to be the endgame is disturbing to say the least. She spends her days on twitter chastising Trump for his behavior and then created TV show “couples” that glorifies abuse of woman. She is a hypocrite.
Klaus is going to die, anyway which is how the shown should end. He’s been too evil to get the Damon, TVD, treatment.

Yes she needs to come back. Klaus grew as a person with Cami. The way he acted with Caroline was sick.
