Aria Shahghasemi joins The Originals season 5 as Landon, possible Hope love interest

For quite some time now there’s been discussion of what could be coming for the older version of Hope on The Originals season 5. Now, we’ve got some insight as to who she could be spending some of her time with.

According to a report from TVLine, Aria Shahghasemi is going to be joining the show close to the end of the final season in a role that will actually be a little more human than some of the other people you are going to meet. To be specific, he is playing Landon, a “thoughtful, compassionate and self-aware kid from the wrong side of the tracks who catches Hope’s attention when she witnesses him being bullied by his affluent classmates.” Is this a possible love connection? You cannot rule that sort of thing out — especially near the end of the season.

One of the reasons why this would be an interesting time to bring the character onto the show is because of the rumors out there about there being a Hope-centric spin-off show in development that brings the show almost full-circle. On the surface, it sounds like a complete flip of The Vampire Diaries with Aria Shahghasemi’s character being more of the Elena while Hope is more the Damon/Stefan. It is far too early to tell if this is something that is going to come to fruition. As a matter of fact, The CW could easily decide that they want to go in a completely different direction entirely and just end the world of vampires (at least the ones from Julie Plec) once and for all.

We would be interested in the idea of a spin-off, but this is one of those things that is really hard to define without actually seeing the characters in action. We don’t know if they are worthy of the screen time or not just yet.
