Supernatural season 13 episode 7 preview: An odd Thanksgiving decision
Why would a network, (one interested in getting good ratings for its shows) choose to broadcast a new episode of Supernatural on Thanksgiving? What good does that do them? This is a show that has a devoted audience for sure, but they’re also all humans who often do have other plans and cannot watch live. This is a bit of a bummer for people out there who don’t have DVRs and don’t really love having to sit in front of a computer in order to watch an episode of something. This is choice doesn’t make a lot of sense to us.
As for the story, the Supernatural season 13 episode 7 synopsis CarterMatt has for you below gives you a little more of a sense as to what’s coming:
THE RACE IS ON TO FIND JACK – As Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) continue their search for Jack (Alexander Calvert), with Asmodeus (guest star Jeffrey Vincent Parise) hot on their trail, they stumble across a familiar foe. Meanwhile, Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) manages to escape Michael’s (guest star Christian Keyes) grasp and finds himself an unlikely and mostly unwilling ally. The episode directed by Richard Speight, Jr. was written by Brad Buckner and Eugenie Ross-Leming (#1307). Original airdate 11/23/2017.
We do love that Richard Speight Jr. continues to direct episodes of the show — it makes us nostalgic for when he was on the show a little more often. As for the story itself, it does feel as though we’re seeing the drama with the multiple worlds this season come to a peak. This is exciting, but the problem with this comes back once more to the air date: It’d be one thing to put on the air a standalone episode on Thanksgiving. To do something that is so integral to the main plot of the season? That may be something else entirely.
