Designated Survivor season 2 episode 8 return date: Crisis in Afghanistan
The next installment is entitled “Home,” which we like to think of as the producers handing down a pretty hefty dose of irony for many different reasons. Mainly, nobody’s going to feel all that comfortable — President Kirkman is going to be overseas, and while there he will learn more about a potentially dangerous plot. ABC hypes this episode up (in the promo below) as the most explosive one of the season, and that makes sense given that it’s felt as though something was brewing for weeks now. It’s possible that whatever is transpiring in Afghanistan is an elaborate plot that was put into motion some time ago. (We still don’t trust Alex’s mom for whatever reason — granted, we’re worried for Alex in general given the chatter that this character may be written off at the end of the season.)
Below, the Designated Survivor season 2 episode 8 synopsis should offer up a little more news regarding what is coming up on the show next:
While on a secret mission to Afghanistan, President Kirkman meets with two infamous warlords and must determine whom he can trust to hand over territories to the United States, while Seth has a run-in with Washington D.C. police that puts his job, reputation and future in the White House on the line.
Beyond the story and the stakes for Kirkman, here’s the bad news — the return date for this episode is not for two more weeks. Like many other major networks out there ABC is shelving Designated Survivor next week because of it being the day before Thanksgiving. Understandably, they don’t want the show to lose any more viewers because of traveling or people getting ready for the big meal the following day — the show has low enough ratings as it is right now.
