Blindspot season 3 spoilers: Archie Panjabi returning as Nas Kamal
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Martin Gero confirms that the Good Wife alum, (who recently also appeared on Bull in the role of Arti Cander) will be making an appearance in an upcoming episode. She had a huge part in the second season thanks to her work with an off-the-books NSA team, one that worked alongside the FBI to stop Sandstorm. This time around, though, the circumstances of her reappearance are being shrouded in mystery.
For now, here is what executive producer Martin Gero had to say about this appearance to the aforementioned website:
“We’re so elated to have the tremendous Archie Panjabi back for a very exciting one-off episode this year! I can’t say much about what will happen in the episode yet, but Nas will play a small but integral part in bringing down the bad guys this year.”
There’s definitely a lot to be thrilled about with Panjabi returning to the show even without knowing why she’s coming back — for one, she’s got a history with Weller and seeing the two characters on-screen together (provided that Nas shares a scene with him) should prove to be very fun. Also, another interesting component of this story to remember is that we’re years in the future from where we were during the second season. Much like we’ve seen things change rather dramatically with Jane, Weller, Patterson, and some other characters on the show we have to assume that there are many things that are different in the life of Nas, as well. This should be interesting to explore.
On more of a larger scale, we’re hoping that these guest spots are setting up some sort of series re-entry for Panjabi. We’d like to see her as a regular again on US TV given that everything she does, whether it be The Good Wife, The Fall, or some of these guest appearances, proves to be rather outstanding.
