MacGyver season 2 episode 8 spoilers: Billy Baldwin to play Riley’s father

Billy Baldwin

MacGyver season 2 episode 8 looks to be proving one thing: This is a season all about fathers. For most of the season the title character has searched for his dad, and tonight’s episode brought out some backstory regarding Jack and his own dad. Given that Father’s Day is in the summer and MacGyver can’t exactly tell a story about it then (Since they are off the air at that time), so they’re sprinkling the subject matter through most of their episodes.

This brings us to “Packing Peanuts + Fire” next week, which is going to feature Billy Baldwin stopping by in the role of Elwood. He’s Riley’s estranged father — while Jack acts as a de-facto dad to her and has for most of her life, Riley will likely have an emotional reaction to seeing her father turn up all of a sudden.

For more news as to what is coming up, take a look at the MacGyver season 2 episode 8 synopsis CarterMatt has for you below:

“Packing Peanuts + Fire” – When MacGyver and Jack “steal” a priceless painting, using a table cloth and a shoe lace, in order to draw an infamous stolen art dealer out of hiding, they wind up getting conned out of the painting by the dealer’s team. Also, Riley’s estranged father, Elwood (Billy Baldwin), asks to be part of her life, and Matty sends Bozer to a spy training camp, on MACGYVER, Friday, Nov. 17 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

All signs point towards MacGyver season 2 episode 8 being a great episode for those out there who like interesting heist storylines — this is something we celebrate, given that the casino episode is our favorite one of the entire season to date.

As for Elwood, Riley will have a major decision to make. She needs to figure out whether or not Elwood is the sort of person that she wants to trust — given that he hasn’t been around, it’s understandable to be suspicious as to why he is coming back now. Is he out for something malicious? The thing Riley needs to remember — and we hope someone reminds her of — is that she doesn’t need him in her life if it feels like something is off with him. She’s a strong person and doesn’t need to settle for anything but the best.
