House of the Dragon season 3 episode 2 trailer: Rhaenyra’s revenge
As we get prepared to see House of the Dragon season 3 episode 2 on HBO this coming weekend, it does feel like everything could break apart. We are on the other side now of the Battle of the Gullet and while there are casualties all across the board, they are going to be felt worse on one side than the other.
In particular, we are talking about who Rhaenyra lost when it comes to her son Jace. Now, we recognize that she cannot blame herself for this death, as Jace effectively forced her to stay behind and charged into the battle recklessly with his dragon. However, this is a pain that may not subside, and that leads to concerns as to whether or not she will be capable of ruling as the story presses on.

Last night, HBO shared an official trailer (watch here) for the upcoming episodes, and it does show that there are more questions regarding Rhaenyra’s capabilities. However, she does have more support now than she ever did before from Daemon, who seems to have learned something from his own harrowing season 2 story.
Meanwhile, the preview also does promise that in general, Oldtown and Ormund Hightower (James Norton) is going to be incredibly important this go-around as he becomes a central figure within the ongoing conflict. There are seven episodes left and of course, that means plenty of time for the narrative to shift and change. It remains to be seen just what form every story is going to take, but we are certainly eager to find out in due time.
