Scandal season 7 episode 7 (winter finale) preview: Is Quinn dead?

Scandal season 7 episode 7 is not just your standard episode of the ABC series — after all, it’s also going to double as the winter finale! This is the last episode presumably of the calendar year, and given that this is Scandal, you have to believe that the odds are pretty high that the show is going to go out with one of the biggest bangs possible. Maybe there will be character deaths, or maybe there’ll just be a few big twists that you don’t see coming. The show has to set the bar pretty high here given that we’ve already seen this season a romance involving world leaders, an airplane explode, and an extremely pregnant Quinn Perkins abandon her wedding to chase down a case.

This show is not slowing down at all, and while ABC (in their typical fashion) isn’t giving a whole lot away about Scandal season 7 episode 7 in advance, CarterMatt has the synopsis for you below:

“The first half of the epic final season ends with shocking revelations and jaw-dropping events that will leave everyone reeling.”

What does this hint at? Well, the part of it that we find the most interesting is the part where it suggests that “everyone” is going to be impacted by what’s happening next rather than just a single character. This means that we’re looking at a wide-scale event and there are many different possibilities when it comes to scenarios. Take, for example, Mellie going to war with the new regime of Bashran or the death of someone beloved to the series. While we may not want to see the latter happen, we are very much aware of the fact that this is the sort of show where such things can happen and they very often do. Given that we are in the final season there’s no incentive to keep anyone alive anymore.

The promo for this episode gets a little more specific, showing you the continued search for Quinn following the reveal she was captured. The closing shot, featuring what looks to be a body under a sheet, certainly is meant to make you think she is dead.

Is that actually the case? Well, we’ll see on that.
