Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 5 is right around the corner, and with that there’s a lot to be excited about!
We really hope that you are not out of the Halloween spirit just yet. This spooky installment is coming a few days late of the holiday this year, and the biggest reason for that is simply because of CBS opting to air a Michael Jackson Halloween Special on the network last Friday. We do believe that this was probably filmed with the intention of it being able to air in time of the holiday but that just didn’t happen. No big whoop, since it’s still going to be entertaining either way. We here at CarterMatt love Hawaii Five-0’s Halloween specials. Not every show puts a lot of emphasis on this holiday, but this show always goes all out.
The sneak peeks below serve a couple of different purposes.
1. A celebration of the holiday – The first one with Jerry is important for establishing the case of the episode, but beyond that it’s also a callback to Masi Oka’s time on the show. Remember when Max would dress up as characters from various Keanu Reeves movies? Well, we’re going to see Jerry keep that tradition going here — however, the major twist is that he probably should’ve done a little bit more research before deciding to wear this particular costume.
Meanwhile, at one point in the second sneak peek you can see Danny wearing a mask at Steve’s home — he obviously meant to scare McGarrett with it, but he runs into Junior Reigns instead.
2. The Junior / Danny meeting – This is significant given that despite him being on a couple of episodes now the two haven’t actually met yet. This is going to be an opportunity for them to spend a little bit of time together, though in general we don’t foresee them being natural partners. Steve and Danny are always going to take the lead, but signs point towards Danny working more with Tani while Steve works with Junior. They all balance each other out better that way — both Danny and Junior are a little more by the book, whereas Steve and Tani each have a certain tendency to be free-wheeling and fly more by the seat of their pants during various cases. That can be at times both a good thing and a bad thing.
