Grey’s Anatomy season 14 and the Bethany Joy Lenz casting mystery
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lenz (who also appeared on another show we loved in Dexter) will appear on Grey’s Anatomy for an undisclosed number of episodes, playing a character who is only known by her first name: Jenny. No other details were released, but that shouldn’t be a surprise given that Shonda Rhimes likes to cover her metaphorical carousel with a heavy veil of secrecy.
What we do know is that there may be a little room for some new stories coming up given that we saw one chapter of the show come to close on Thursday night. Martin Henderson (Nathan Riggs) is seemingly gone from the show as he and Megan Hunt had some sort of happy ending together. We knew that Abigail Spencer would be gone from the series at some point, so we’re not altogether shocked that this would be the time to say farewell to her. She’s got Timeless that she needs to prepare for!
Lenz could help to make up for some of the lost space there, but she’s also going to have a lot of help given that there are many new interns who are going to play a part in the story coming up. We definitely think that Rhimes and the team are doing everything that they can in order to stay authentic when it comes to life at the hospital — there are always going to be new faces turning up, and really you just need to be prepared for that.
No one knows when Lenz will appear on the show, so you will just have to make sure that you tune in for every episode – you know, just in case she turns up.
