The Blacklist season 5 episode 5 spoilers: The mystery of Meera’s grave
The character of Meera (played by Parminder Nagra) was killed off at the end of the first season, and at the time it was considered to be a rather big, shocking moment. However, this doesn’t address the new question at hand: Why visit her grave now? What good does that bring Liz Keen now, and what sort of pain is causing her to be so emotional?
The photo above was first posted over at TV Guide, and it’s upon viewing a photo like this that you wonder if this is some sort of flashback to not too long after Meera was first killed — but, if that was the case, why in the world is the show showing us this now? What good could that do? It’s likely that the episode tonight has some sort of connection to her, which we mostly appreciate from the vantage point of the show doing just about everything that it can in order to showcase its past. You can’t forget about things that happened since they help to shape who you are, whether it be in life or in a fictional venue such as on a television show.
For Liz, there are a number of different things that she is going to be struggling with over the course of this episode, but one of the biggest ones more than likely is dealing with the ever-changing world around her. Reddington is still building his team, and she’s more involved in that process than ever before. Yet, there are also some serious concerns that go along with this including waiting for the other shoe to drop and to figure out what happens in the event that it does. She knows at this point that nothing ever goes too great for her in life for too long a period of time. Sooner or later, something comes in that implants a ton of chaos into her life. She just has to be prepared for when it happens and what the aftereffects of it are.
Unfortunately, we’re here to say at CarterMatt today that the aftereffects of it this time around could be more severe than ever before. After all, one of the major things that we are seeing right now is simply that Tom is on a knife’s edge, and it may not be long before he does something that gets him killed. She doesn’t know it yet, but he could be in a grave of his own before long.
