The Blacklist season 5 episode 5 spoilers: Reddington, Tom make moves

The Blacklist season 5 episode 5 is coming over to NBC next week, and early indications suggest that we’re getting all the closer to a big Reddington – Tom Keen standoff. We know that it’s coming, so really the question is when — and also when it does if Tom emerges from the rubble in one piece. There’s a lot of big questions that are still floating around out there when it comes to the show and its big tease at the start of the season — we cannot offer any definite answers just yet, but all signs do point towards the fact that some are coming, and they’ll be here sooner rather than later.

If you look below now, you can get a little more insight on this episode, while carries with it the rather-difficult title to pronounce in “Ilyas Survok.”

The Blacklist season 5 episode 5 synopsis – “When Red (James Spader) provides exclusive intel on an international terrorist, it puts Liz (Megan Boone) and the Task Force on a collision course with a rival unit from the CIA. Meanwhile, Red and Hawkins (guest star Aida Turturro) lay the groundwork for their new business venture, and Tom (Ryan Eggold) goes undercover in search of information.”

One of the things that is interesting about this case, besides of course Reddington and Tom each doing what they need to in order to get more information and further along their own separate causes, is getting a chance to see more of Liz Keen/the FBI facing off against the CIA. It’s not altogether often that you see two separate branches of government facing off within the same show. While we have a hard time thinking that this is going to end in some sort of violent shootout between the two parties are anything like, there could be some interesting avenues that get explored as a result of this storyline. In turn, these are ones that we would like looked at even more as the season progresses depending, of course, on how this episode ends.

The promo that aired after tonight’s episode of the show made it clear that when the dust settles after tonight’s episode, we could end up seeing someone close to Liz dying … and this is coming up after losing Nik at the end of tonight’s episode.
