Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 4 is airing on NBC Wednesday night, and Brighton Sharbino is at the center of the story. The former Walking Dead actress is going to be guest-starring in the episode tonight in the role of Mandy, a teenager turned victim who has a difficult time trying to figure out precisely what transpired to her. On the night of the incident she was high, and her memory now seems to be shot. However, she is clearly hurt and struggling in the aftermath of what transpired.

Not only are there clear physical pains as a result of whatever happened, but this sneak peek below via NBC also makes some of the mental anguish clear. This is a young woman is trying to come to grips with everything that happened to her and it appears as though the case has become far more public than anyone would have wanted. While there may not be many specifics in this sneak peek (first posted by E! News), all you really do need to know in terms of what’s coming here is that the title is “No Good Reason” and it appears as though this story was inspired by 13 Reasons Why.

It makes sense why SVU would want to look at teen bullying, assault, and the aftermath of some of these things following the show’s release. For one, it keeps these issues as subjects of conversation, and we do think at the moment that this is something that is very much needed. While we do think that the messages of 13 Reasons Why resonated with many out there, it’s been months since that show came out and as a result of that, the story has faded into the background perhaps more than it should have. The focus of this story as a whole should then be getting a chance to learn more about how to stop this case and how to further prevent more like it from happening — we want to believe that there is a way, mostly because we want to think through an optimistic lens.

As for what the SVU team is able to do in order to investigate this case and find those responsible, our advice is simple: Check out the episode tonight, as we will have so much more in the way of coverage all about it over at the CarterMatt link here.
