Lethal Weapon season 2 episode 5 spoilers: Thomas Lennon returns as Leo Getz

Thomas Lennon

It was revealed earlier this season that Thomas Lennon would be returning to Lethal Weapon season 2 as Leo Getz. Now, we know when — at least to a certain extent.

Lennon should be returning to the show in the iconic role from the Lethal Weapon feature films for the tentatively-scheduled October 31 installment entitled “Let It Ride.” One of the things that makes this one a little more dodgy is that this episode’s air date is heavily dependent on whether or not the World Series extends itself to this point. If baseball bumps the show off the air you’ll have to wait until November 7 to see this episode play out. One way or another, this is going to be fun — Getz is a great character and Lennon is one of the perfect people to play him within the world of the show. There is a little bit of an homage to the original while at the same time something that feels refreshing and interesting in its own right.

If you look below you can get a little more information regarding what is coming up in terms of this episode’s story:

“Murtaugh and Riggs investigate a death that occurs moments before the victim’s bet wins a horse race. Leo Getz (guest star Thomas Lennon) insists it’s a homicide and aids in the investigation. Meanwhile, Murtaugh updates his will, while Riggs struggles to come to terms with his past in the all-new “Let It Ride” episode of LETHAL WEAPON airing Tuesday, Oct. 31 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.”

Earlier this season it was reported that Lennon would be appearing in multiple episodes, so consider this story to be one of a few this season where he will be turning up. That’s something that a show like Lethal Weapon needs just because it mixes up the dynamic a little bit and keeps some of the characters on their toes. You want that with a show like this given that every case should be memorable in its own way.

Lennon is coming off of a run on CBS’ The Odd Couple, and he was also an executive producer on Comedy Central’s @midnight, a show we’ve missed from the very moment that it wrapped up. We know that for many out there he’s known best for his role on Reno 911!, which also aired on Comedy Central.
