Vice Principals season 2 episode 5 spoilers: Russell’s in for a shock

When Vice Principals season 2 episode 5 airs on HBO next week, the show’s going to be changing course once more. While tonight featured some of the most somber moments in the life of one Lee Russell, there could be some happiness next week — even if it’s brief. After all, we have a birthday party coming up!

We wish that we could say that this episode will be easier on Lee by the end of it — but that’s probably not going to be the case. This is a show that maybe presses pause on the crazy for a few minutes, but then someone presses play again and the crazy starts again. Somehow, someway, we’re probably going to have a chance to see Russell have another meltdown at the expense of just about everyone at North Jackson high.

What could be another complication for Lee Russell? Well, let’s just say that there could be a changing of the guard at the school. For the longest time, Neal seemed to be convinced that he needed to be big, bold, and brash in order to rise to power. On tonight’s episode we saw Neal win over all of the teachers after Lee used hired guns in order to reinforce his values. All of a sudden Gamby was a folk hero to the students just because of the fact that he was a decent human being. Sometimes, the bar is set so low that a terrible option somehow looks good. That is where we could be going with Neal in the end — with the teachers fighting to get him charge just because he’s better than any other option.

Here’s one other question you still must ponder: Who shot Neal? Do you really think that this storyline is at the end of the road? If it comes back up and Neal gets obsessed again there is a very good chance that all of that goodwill goes right out the window.
