Shark Tank: Enso Rings, Tanglepets, Fidgetland, Third Wave Water, and Sleep Styler (preview)

Synopsis – “The Sharks debate if the solution to make coffee taste even better from two entrepreneurs from Cedarville, Ohio, is too much of a niche product; an entrepreneur from Woodland Hills, California, is at the forefront of a hot trend for those who need to increase their focus while decreasing stress; a high-energy mom from La Center, Washington, has a product that will make kids love brushing their hair; and two men from Midvale, Utah, surprise the Sharks about the danger of something they wear every day. Also, a follow-up with Tara Brown from San Diego, California, and Sleep Styler, which Lori Greiner invested in during season eight.”
The Products
Enso Rings – At first, we’ll admit that when we heard of this idea that it was absolutely insane. It’s basically a silicon wedding band that you wear on your finger in replacement of a typical wedding ring. There are a lot of people who like to feel as though they are wearing something expensive — hence the decision to get the metal weddings bands instead.
Then again, we could see this as a practical wedding ring for people who are active or have a job where they aren’t able to wear a metal wedding ring. If nothing else, maybe it’s a replacement band for when they are on the job and they can still their metal ring around at other times. These are affordable and therefore easy to mix and match. Or, maybe you just wear them as fashion and not as as symbol for anything else.
Fidgetland – At this point fidget spinners are enormously popular — while these aren’t exactly the same thing they are very much in the same vein. Therefore, we have a feeling that these fidgets have a significant upside. It’s a way for people to let loose some of their excess stress in a way that isn’t hugely distracting to other people. The challenge that they face is mostly finding a way into a market that is starting to become crowded — we’ve probably see about a thousand different fidget spinners alone over the past several months.
Third Wave Water – Do you know how we often seek out the best beans possible to make great coffee? As it turns out, that isn’t the only thing that matters! One of the main focuses of this company is figuring out the best water possible for coffee, one with the perfect balance so that the end result is brewed with the optimum taste and the right amount of minerals. As a coffee fanatic we absolutely love this idea. However, at the same time we do also think that it’s going to be hard convincing consumers to focus on the water more so than the beans, the creamer, or anything else that they’re using.
Tanglepets – This is, in terms of an idea, probably the best one in the Tank tonight just because there is such a time-honored tradition of bait-and-switch kid products out there that have done well through this show. Entrepreneurs are able to convince consumers and kids to enjoy these products on the basis of them being cute and cuddly, but they serve a deeper purpose beyond that. Here, you’ve got hairbrushes that also double as cute animal companions. Does it make brushing fun? At the very least it may make it more appealing for some people who are out there.
