When is a brief Shadowhunters season 3 preview coming?

Shadowhunters season 3 preview

Do you want to see a Shadowhunters season 3 preview? While that feels like a rhetorical answer, we’ve got a way for you to see it!

As executive producer Todd Slavkin confirmed in a new post on Twitter, the upcoming season 3 panel at New York Comic-Con is going to offer up the first sizzle reel for the new episodes set to premiere at some point early on in 2017. Maybe you’ll learn about some castings, and maybe you’ll start to see what’s going to be coming up with some of the various ‘ships on the show whether it be Malec, Clace, or someone else. These sort of panels are often a fun source of discussion and fun for the fans, especially since there are only so many of them that the cast really gets a chance to attend. This panel is happening on Sunday, October 7 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, and will begin at 12:00 p.m. Eastern time. (It’s happening in conjunction with another upcoming Freeform show in Beyond.)

One of the reasons why this particular convention is likely possible for the team is because of the fact that it’s not all that far from Toronto, where the show films and what the show uses as a stand-in for their own version of the Big Apple. It’s just a bus or short plane ride away for some of these people, and they can get back to filming and working on the new season in a very brief period of time.

Just in case you want a tiny bit more insight about the panel, here is what Freeform had to say in a statement:

“Fans will get an exclusive first look and hear teases of what is in store for our favorite Shadowhunters and Downworlders happening in the upcoming third season of the hit series “Shadowhunters.” The panel will include exclusive footage of the new season and a Q&A with executive producers Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, Matt Hastings and TBD cast.”

This probably will not be the only Shadowhunters season 3 footage that comes out between now and the premiere episode airing, as there will more than likely be something more released in either late November or early December. Marketing for the show is often a challenge — it often tends to premiere so soon into the new year that there is a little less of a chance to do publicity right before it due to the holidays. Expect a promotional tour for this show that is just a little bit more drawn out.
