Longmire season 6 reportedly still in post-production

How about this for a Longmire season 6 post-production surprise? It’s still going on in preparation of the debut on Netflix!

As posted by the well-informed Longmire Posse Twitter account, the streaming provider is not stalling on the release of the show, which seemed to be the case judging from the fact that both seasons 4 and 5 premiered in September despite filming at around the same time. The show is still being worked on behind the scenes in order to make it perfect, and following that maybe then some more news will start to trickle out regarding when the streaming provider could start to get it on the air.

It’s possible that there is a different timeline going for post-production this season than what we saw in the past; or, it’s also possible that the show just has a lengthier process that they are undergoing this year and there is more complicated work to be done.

Either way, consider this a hopeful sign that Longmire season 6 is going to be airing on the streaming service as some point in the reasonably near future — hopefully at some point this year. Given that it is not on the October release calendar for Netflix, our current hope is to see it on the air at around Thanksgiving. That’s a perfect time for the show to come back in that it’d be able to avoid much in the way of major competition from some of the other major networks. It’s also a time when there are a number of people off of work and it’s easy to sit around and enjoy some of your favorite programming in the comfort of your own home. Just put on Longmire instead and browse Amazon from your tablet!

It does make some sense to ensure that the final episodes of Longmire are perfect when you consider for a moment some of the importance behind this season. While current plans are for this to be the end of the road for some of these characters, there is already some movement from fans for there to be a series of movies down the road to continue along some of these stories. It’s much too early to determine whether or not this is going to happen, but there is obviously an awareness that in order to get some of these movies made the show does need to end on the best note possible. You want to keep people talking about the show!

Suffice it to say, we’re excited to see what some of the Longmire writer-producers have come up with.
