Gotham season 4 episode 5 spoilers: Solomon Grundy’s showcase

Gotham season 4 episode 5

Gotham season 4 episode 5 comes on the air October 19 on Fox, Solomon Grundy could very well be at the center of it. Edward Nygma is going to see the new version of the character, and he is very much a formidable foe now. The show’s interpretation of the Batman character should prove to be very much interesting; not only that, but the same goes for what the relationship between him and the Riddler could be. As the synopsis below indicates, this is not the sort of show where alliances and allegiances remain the same. Things change, and they often change quickly.

In this case, they could change simply because Grundy/Butch has no recollection regarding who he once was.

“Nygma comes face-to-face with Butch Gilzean, but he is not who he used to be. In an attempt to regain power and identity, Nygma decides to put his former partner’s skills to the test. Meanwhile, Sofia Falcone takes action to protect her own life by appealing to Penguin’s vulnerable side. With the power of the dagger in his possession, Bruce surprises those around him with his bold actions in the all-new “A Dark Knight: The Blade’s Path” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, Oct. 19 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.”

This is in some ways an episode we weren’t quite sure we would ever see, largely because the most we ever saw previously about Butch potentially being Grundy were some rumors that were thrown around here and there by people wanting it to be so. However, there’s a pretty clear distinction between people wanting him to be Grundy and it actually happening. Glad that’s out of the way now.

In terms of the rest of the story, we’re all about Gotham season 4 episode 5 giving us more of a chance to see and understand Sofia Falcone (Crystal Reed) more as a character. She is someone who is obviously dangerous just on the basis of who she is and who she’s related to; we have to think that having Carmine Falcone as a father is going to lead to you picking up a few tools of the trade. We do also feel like she’s got her own unique skill set that comes with having her own history away from the city. When she first surfaces on the series Thursday night, Gordon will have gone to her outside of Gotham for help in order to deal with Penguin and his foothold on the city’s underworld. Is he making a deal with the devil? We’re worried about that here at CarterMatt, but time’s going to tell in terms of whether or not he’s making the right move or a gross miscalculation.
