Criminal Minds season 13 episode 3 spoilers: When drones attack

Criminal Minds season 13 episode 3

Criminal Minds season 13 episode 3 is going to be coming on CBS October 11, and just from the title alone in “Killer App,” you know it’s going to be crazy. It’s got a very high-tech thriller vibe to it, given that at the center of the story is going to be a drone with the potential to kill and an UnSub who is basically some sort of horrible puppetmaster. He’s figured out a way to utilize technology to do his bidding, and we have to worry that one kill isn’t going to be enough for him.

Below, the Criminal Minds season 13 episode 3 synopsis details how this story begins:

“The BAU investigates a workplace shooting committed by a state-of-the-art drone in Silicon Valley, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Oct. 11 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”

The photo above isn’t all that revealing, though it does give you yet another reminder of Daniel Henney being integrated very quickly with the team. If he and Spencer Reid end up taking the lead in this case, we’re excited to see how that turns out! We’re also very much curious to learn in general how Spencer is going to be faring in the aftermath of everything that happened to him at the end of this past season, given that he can’t just walk away from being in prison and pretend as though it never happened. That trauma will stick with him, but the good news is that he’s surrounded by a supportive group of friends and colleagues. The BAU understands what it is like to grapple with terrible torment, largely because they’ve all been through this before in one form or another. Just look at what JJ and Garcia have been through! In general, if you’ve had an episode of Criminal Minds named after you, then you’ve probably gone through some terrible stuff on the show.

New episodes of Criminal Minds season 13 start up on Wednesday night, and this should help those of you eagerly awaiting to see what happens in “Killer App.” CBS isn’t often all that descriptive of their episode synopses in advance, so we’re not surprised that this is all we have here. In general, we do think that this is going to be interesting mostly because there’s an element of real-life fear to it. There are some cases on this show that are so far out there we have a harder time imagining them happening in life, but with the rise of drones (and shows like “Black Mirror” putting the fear of technology into our hearts), we don’t think it’s all that far-fetched that more people could be using them for evil rather than good. Insofar as that goes, this could be a chilling episode of the series.
