Supergirl season 3 spoilers: Amy Jackson – Saturn Girl casting confirmed

Saturn Girl casting

Who doesn’t want some Supergirl – Saturn Girl casting leading up to the season 3 premiere for the series? Well, we’re happy to provide that for you here at CarterMatt.

According to a report from Deadline, British-born Bollywood actress Amy Jackson is poised to make her US television debut on the show as Imra Ardeen, otherwise known as the famed comic-book character Saturn Girl. She possesses telekinetic powers, and unlike the majority of the people who Kara Danvers runs into in National City, she seems to be fighting for the good of mankind rather than harboring some sort of deep-seeded desire to destroy it. She hails from one of Saturn’s moons in Titan (hence the name), and she will be coming onto Supergirl’s version of Earth in order to help in a battle against a major foe. She’s going to be around for more than one episode, so don’t think of this as a character who will turn up one week and be gone the next without much of an indication as to where she went.

Here’s where things could get interesting — is it possible that there are ties between Mon-El and Saturn Girl on the show? Well, in the comics she is a part of the Legion of Superheroes, and this is an organization that there’s been some discussion about Mon-El being tied to this season. At the end of the second season he departed Earth as a means of ensuring his survival, and we know that he had to go somewhere during his time away from Earth. Could he have been off with this group doing something? We do figure that Chris Wood will return to National City at some point a few episodes into the season, and maybe he brings with him a new friend or two.

One way or another, it should be fun seeing another hero with comic ties on the show. Hopefully, she does get to make a little more of an impact than we got to see with Stargirl and some other members of the Justice Society of America over on Legends of Tomorrow season 2. Were it not for some deleted scenes, we would not have known at there was at one point talk of a romantic connection between her and Jax.

Beyond the Saturn Girl casting

There is obviously a lot of different stories that we are waiting to see on Supergirl season 3, in between the arrival of Reign a.k.a. Samantha Arias (read more about her here) and whatever the future is going to hold for Alex and Maggie. Sanvers still remains a priority for many fans, and it’s not all that difficult to understand why given their connection.
